While visiting his dear Sikh Bhai Lalo in Saidpur (now Eminabad), Guru Nanak Sahib witnessed the brutal invasion of the Uzbeki ruler Babur. Babur’s destroyed the Lodhi dynasty and began his Mughal dynasty, which would dominate South Asia for centuries. Guru Nanak Sahib witnessed the wholescale massacre of civilians, the horrific treatment of women and the heartless killing of prisoners of war. With only Bhai Mardana & Bhai Lalo at his side, what was Guru Nanak Sahib’s response to these atrocities? Let us explore Guru Sahib’s response to war crimes, which would lay the foundation stone for all of Sikhi’s social and political activism.
